IEEE 2011

Student Grants

Overview

IEEE Cluster 2011 will assist student participation in the conference this year. A limited number of grants will be awarded to defray registration, travel and hotel costs. Awards are based the student's experience, activity, and interest in the field of cluster and high-performance computing. Please submit an application before or on the deadline date below. All applicants will be notified within a week after the deadline. Submissions will be reviewed by the IEEE Program and Student Grant chairs.

Eligibility

Students must be US citizens or students attending US universities/institutions. Students who are presenting technical papers or posters (as a first author) at the conference are, of course, preferred by their participation status.

Application:

Please send one or three separate pdf files containing the following sections to studentgrants@ieeecluster.org:

  1. Cover page:
    • Name, Email, Institute/Affiliation, present Degree of Study (PhD/Masters/Undergraduate), Major, Academic/Major Advisor
    • Paste a scanned copy of your student card or attach as a separate JPEG or GIF. ALSO, provide a URL of your institution showing you as a current student pursuing your studies (e.g. a Student Directory or Department page that identifies you). A generic URL to your institute/department is not enough. If it is not readily evident from the URL that you are a current student at that institute, your application will be considered incomplete.
    • Identify your participation in the conference (Paper/Poster/Workshop, other or attendee only) and include titles and authors.
  2. Body:
    • Describe you activity, research, accomplishments and/or interests in cluster computing and high-performance computing. Explain how the conference will benefit you. If your field of expertise is not in computing, you should describe how your attendance will benefit your research or career.
    • Size: around 500 words.
  3. Resume or short CV:
    • A Resume or short CV (2 pages) which includes research interests, projects, reports, and/or published/in-progress papers.
    • Web page, if available.
